3rd Alarm Barnstable
84 Allyn Lane, Barnstable
Sunday  October 20, 2019   Approx 13:30

3rd Alarm Barnstable
The Barnstable Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the
area of Allyn Lane off Route 6A, Barnstable shortly after 13:30 hrs on Sunday
October 20, 2019. On arrival, Engine 202 found a large 2-1/2 story wood dwelling with
heavy fire showing. Thick black smoke (as seen from these Barnstable Harbor cell phone images)
was visible for for miles and prompted numerous other responses including from the USCG for a
possible boat fire until it was confirmed that the smoke was in fact on shore.

Barnstable crews were assisted by West Barnstable, Hyannis and Yarmouth on the initial response.
A Second Alarm was transmitted soon after crews went to work and a Third alarm for relief crews
as two hydrants supplied approximately 5 handlines.  The home was located at the end of a long
road and the driveway was not accessible to apparatus due to fire volume on arrival.
Ultimately additional crews from Hyannis, West Barnstable, Yarmouth, COMM, and Sandwich
operated at the scene with other departments assisting with cover assignments.
